libmdc2-dev software package provides Medical Image (DICOM, ECAT, ...) conversion tool (development), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmdc2-dev
libmdc2-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmdc2-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmdc2-dev *
You will get with libmdc2-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
